PayTheory Barcode

The PayTheoryBarcode is a custom ImageView component used to display SVG barcodes for cash payments. It extends AppCompatImageView and provides automatic SVG loading and rendering capabilities.

Usage​

Add the barcode view to your layout:

<com.paytheory.android.sdk.view.PayTheoryBarcode
    android:id="@+id/barcode"
    android:layout_width="match_parent"
    android:layout_height="wrap_content" />

Public Methods​

displayBarcode()​

Loads and displays a barcode from a BarcodeResult:

fun displayBarcode(barcodeResult: BarcodeResult)

Example Implementation​

class PaymentActivity : PayTheoryMerchantActivity(), Payable {
    override fun handleBarcodeSuccess(barcodeResult: BarcodeResult) {
        // Display the barcode when received
        findViewById<PayTheoryBarcode>(R.id.payTheoryBarcode).displayBarcode(barcodeResult)
    }
}

Important Notes​

  • Only used for cash payment transactions
  • Automatically handles SVG loading and rendering
  • The barcode URL is provided in the BarcodeResult after a successful cash payment setup

Error Handling​

The component includes built-in error handling for:

  • Network failures when loading SVG
  • SVG parsing errors
  • Invalid URLs
