Google Pay™ Getting Started

Google Pay™ enables fast, secure payments for customers across multiple browsers and devices. With Pay Theory's integration, you can accept Google Pay™ payments through our simple gateway integration.

Overview​

Google Pay™ allows customers to pay using cards saved to their Google account. When integrated with Pay Theory:

  • Works across Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge browsers
  • Supports both mobile and desktop experiences
  • Payment information is tokenized for enhanced security
  • Transactions process through your existing Pay Theory merchant account

Requirements​

To accept Google Pay™ with Pay Theory, you'll need:

  • An active Pay Theory merchant account
  • Google account for business use
  • SSL certificate on your website (HTTPS required)
  • Registration in Google Pay & Wallet Console

Implement Google Pay™ on your website using the Google Pay™ API with Pay Theory's JavaScript SDK.

Getting Started with Google​

Before implementing Google Pay™, you'll need to register with Google:

  1. Create a business profile - Register your business information
  2. Configure Pay Theory as your gateway - Specify Pay Theory in your integration settings
  3. Add your website - Google will verify your SSL certificate
  4. Accept Terms of Service - Complete the registration process

Testing​

Google Pay™ provides a TEST environment for development:

  • No registration required for testing
  • Use test card numbers provided by Google
  • Switch to PRODUCTION when ready to accept live payments
